VisitScotland.com Update

There’s been a great start to the year with more than one million user sessions coming to the visitscotland.com website in January. Each visitor is on the website for around 15 minutes. The Winter White campaign website is averaging around 40,000 user sessions a month with an average “dwell-time” of more than five minutes.

WEBSITE PERFORMANCE REPORTS:
VisitScotland.com is preparing to communicate visitor numbers to accommodation providers’ web listings - and will report quarterly on progress throughout the year. The new system will be introduced at the beginning of April and will provide information in four areas:

  • Number of unique visits to your entry on VisitScotland.com
  • Number of bookings received
  • Number of e-mails sent via the VisitScotland.com website direct to you from your listing
  • The number of visitors to your own website that came through  via VisitScotland.com

This development is in response to tourism businesses asking us to help them understand what VisitScotland.com is delivering for them - this will give them a very clear picture of this.

It is crucial that businesses keep their website information, interesting, informative and up to date, however, VisitScotland.com will review those whose visitor numbers fall below a minimum amount  and will offer them help and advice on how to improve their performance.
