Regional eUpdate - June 2015

We have once again demonstrated that Scotland is the Perfect Stage for events by securing the European Champions Cup and European Challenge Cup for 2017 - a major boost for Scottish Rugby and Scotland’s visitor economy as a whole.

In 2009 the then Heineken Cup brought in over £12 million of additional spend to Scotland and these events are certain to generate even greater impact. And with a summer of golf ahead and music tourism contributing £280 million to the economy through events like T in the Park and Wickerman, it’s clear to see the importance of the sector to Scotland.

This month we announced funding to create even more opportunities for new events during the Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design in 2016. Find out more in this month’s eUpdate.
