Regional eUpdate - March 2015

The stars of our tourism industry celebrated in style at the Scottish Thistle Awards national final earlier this month, on the closing night of Scottish Tourism Week. As well as congratulating the winners, I’d like to thank all the partners and VisitScotland staff involved in delivering this year’s tourism Oscars. We're already looking towards the future with nominations open for 2016.

The team at VisitScotland are now preparing to sell Scotland to the world at expo next month, with over 580 international and UK buyers expected at the event in Aberdeen. And with Outlander available in the UK from today, we can also now view the TV series that has been showcasing Scotland at its dazzling best overseas.

Closer to home, we are planning for our visitors of tomorrow and evolving the ways in which we work to meet their needs. Read on to find out how we plan to deliver even more effectively for Scotland’s visitor economy.

I wish you all a busy and successful Easter. Enjoy this month’s eUpdate.

Kind regards
Malcolm Roughead, OBE,
Chief Executive, VisitScotland
