Delivering for Orkney

At VisitScotland, we believe that tourism is leading economic transformation across Scotland. It creates jobs, sustains communities and provides a critical shop window for business activity across all sectors.

Our purpose is to grow and develop the sustainable economic benefit of tourism to Scotland’s visitor economy. We make this happen by working in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver on a local, national and international stage - creating economic benefit in every corner of Scotland.

To give you a flavour of our work, we have created a new series of regional ‘Delivering for’ documents that demonstrate key VisitScotland activity and how we have delivered for Scotland, including key partnerships to reflect the value of collaboration across the country.

Our regional edition for Orkney, introduced by Island Manager, Barbara Foulkes, features what is happening locally and how we have delivered for the area over the past year. It joins 15 other regional documents for the rest of Scotland.

Highlights of this year’s Delivering for Orkney document include: examples of VisitScotland’s marketing campaigns and social media activity for the islands, some statistics on the numbers of potential visitors reached through consumer PR activity for Orkney, information on regional events, and some ‘fast facts’ on tourism spend and markets on the islands.

View this document now and find out how we have been delivering for your area.
