Perthshire Tourism Partnership gets ready for 2016

Earlier this month, Perthshire Tourism Partnership (PTP) held their quarterly meeting which was hosted by the iconic St Matthews church.

The Minister opened the meeting with a talk about the importance of the church for the city of Perth and its tourism, and shared the exciting renovation plans for the church.

VisitScotland’s Regional Partnerships Executive, Neil Christison, presented an overview of Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design 2016 and introduced local businesses and groups relating to the theme year.

The overall consensus was that Perthshire has a wealth of things to offer in relation to Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design, and excitement was generated when discussing getting ‘ahead of the game’ in preparation for 2017 History, Heritage and Archaeology.

The next meeting will focus on funding, with presentations from Leader, VisitScotland Events Directorate and VisitScotland funding streams.

Perthshire Tourism Partnership comprises private sector interests and public sector partners. It is a sub-group of the Community Planning Partnership’s Economic Partnership.

Perthshire Tourism Partnership is tasked with developing the local Tourism Strategy and Action Plan, in line with the industry strategy - Tourism Scotland 2020 to stimulate economic growth.
