New VisitScotland TV advert

The famous Fireball Festival in Stonehaven plays a starring role in VisitScotland’s brand new television advert, which was first broadcast last week.

Featuring a voiceover by Neil Oliver, the television presenter and historian promises a “very warm welcome” to Scotland in the “Surprise Yourself” commercial, accompanied by stunning images of the Stonehaven extravaganza.

Part of a £3.5 million VisitScotland marketing campaign, the new “Surprise Yourself” commercials feature amazing visuals shot all over Scotland, including divers popping out of the water near Eilean Donan Castle, a seaplane taking off on the Clyde and landing at Tobermory, and revellers dancing at the famous King Tut’s music venue in Glasgow.

The adverts are directed by Glasgow-born David Eustace, who worked as a prison officer at Barlinnie before becoming a world-renowned photographer.

David, who has photographed celebrities such as Sir Paul McCartney, Sophia Loren and Dame Judi Dench for some of the world’s leading magazines, added: “It’s not only extremely humbling to be asked to help promote one’s country but also such a privilege to work alongside a group of individuals who care as passionately as I do in promoting something so close to all our hearts. I hope in some way we have created a commercial that will attract others to come and experience the beauty, mystery and spectacle that is Scotland.”
