Scottish Gem set to host European Tour Qualifying Event
Dundonald 9th Hole
From 2008 the European Tour Qualifying School will be heading north of the border for the first time in its history to Dundonald Links on the stunning Ayrshire coastline.
Dundonald Links, situated near the legendary golfing town of Troon is a classic and challenging links style golf course, designed by revered architect Kyle Phillips and owned by Loch Lomond Golf Club. Measuring 7,300 yards from the Championship tees, the course meanders its way effortlessly through the surrounding dunes and is already regarded by many as one of the best new courses in the world.
The European Tour Qualifying School has a long history of producing some of the finest talents in the game. Comprising two initial pre-qualifying stages, held at a number of venues throughout Europe, followed by a rigorous six-round Final Qualifying, competitors are thoroughly tested on all aspects of the game that are required to make it onto The European Tour.
In its short history, Dundonald Links has quickly become recognised as one of Europe’s “must play” new links courses. It has already hosted the Duke of York Young Champions Trophy event, as well as qualifying for the Senior British Open Championship
