Spring has sprung

The Scottish Snowdrop Festival, organised by Discover Scottish Gardens, runs from 28 January to 12 March. Participating gardens and woodlands can be entered for a small ticket price, a donation, or for free, at many venues across the region.

There are two events in Ayrshire & Arran during the Scottish Snowdrop Festival. You can get involved by attending and sharing images with us by using #ScotSpirit on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

• Blair House promises a beautiful display of snowdrops in February in a landscape reminiscent of a grand 19th century park with sweeping vistas, magnificent trees and secret groves.

• Culzean Country Park promises carpets of snowdrops bordering the drive and woodland walk between the castle and the Swan pond. Other attractions include Deerpark Coastline gardens and a children’s playground. The Tearoom and gift shop are open Saturdays and Sundays, 11am – 4pm.

The festival has proved to be very successful, with some locations seeing as much as a 50% increase in visitor numbers during the festival period. Why not share and promote these events on your social media sites and draw visitors to your local area? Don’t forget #ScotSpirit.
